Laceys Creek Homestead & Vineyard
Description
Laceys Creek Homestead and Vineyard is a 110 acre historic farm stay near Brisbane and a scenic 10 minute drive from Dayboro Village where you will find local art, cafes, history and plenty of country town charm.
The Homestead is a restored 1920’s Queensland farmhouse with unrivaled views of the picturesque Laceys Creek valley. It’s a glimpse into an era 100 years ago with old-world interiors, collectables and historic local memorabilia within the Homestead for guests to experience.
With its 12-foot ceilings, stained glass casement windows, wood-burning fireplace, a record player and warm timber floors, it’s a journey back in time to the 1920’s – 1930’s. Every effort has been made to restore the original hardware and windows so guests can immersive themselves in a century into the past.
Ideal for families or groups looking to experience life in the country, guests enjoy three bedrooms, a spacious family room, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with plenty of character. You will meet the Farmers who reside next to the Homestead and can wander the farms mountains and bush tracks. Relax on the deck overlooking the valley and vineyard or cozy up by the fireplace, discover secluded picnic spots and meet the farm animals.
Being a working farm, on arrival you will be greeted by curious chickens, inquisitive ducks, and perhaps the occasional goat, all roaming around the homestead. Depending on the season and stock rotation, you might even encounter cattle grazing nearby. With cattle gracing the surrounding hills and fields, this is an opportunity to experience the genuine rhythm of farm life.
The Homestead is nestled amongst the foothills of the awe-inspiring 90,000-acre D’Aguilar Range and just a stone’s throw from the forest edge, Lacey’s Creek Homestead and Vineyard is an authentic Australian farm stay experience ; it’s a journey into the heart of the Moreton Bay Hinterland, just 50 minutes from Brisbane, and an immersion in the beauty of country life with local history intertwined. Here, life moves at a slower pace, and you will feel worlds away from the city.

During your stay
Laceys Creek Homestead is a 1920’s farmhouse which is fully self-contained and located in close proximity (but separate) to the main residence should you have any issues. My partner and I live in the main residence next door with two very friendly whippets who may come visit if that's your thing.
Things to note
Please be aware there is no airconditioning, however as the house is located on top of a ridgeline where there is an almost constant breeze which keeps temperatures significantly lower than in town and every room has its own ceiling fan.
As the homestead is over 100 years old, it does have a few quirky design features, one of which is the bathroom which is attached to the house but accessed via an external door (a 2-metre walk).
We recommend checking the road conditions prior to travelling as the summer floods can cause some road closures.
Security camera/recording device - “We have security camera outside the homestead pointing away from the house.”
May encounter potentially dangerous animal - “This is a working farm with 42head of cattle, a bull, chooks, ducks and other farm animals”
Pet(s) live on property - “Numerous cows in the paddocks separate from the house, 4 chook, 1 rooster and 2 very friendly whippets”
Potential for noise - “Farm noises, e.g cows, chickens and tractors”
Must climb stairs - “single flight”
Amenity limitations - “Some mobile reception for Telstra phone only. House is on Rain water (which is currently very limited) and Solar hot water.” With the changing climate, rainfall is not as regular as it once was. With this in mind, we ask guests to please be conscious of how much water they use.
