High Shed McKeown’s Rest
Description
250 acre cattle farm situated in the rugged setting of the scenic Blue Mountains, just two and a half hours drive from Sydney. We are a short distance from the Jenolan Caves , Kanangara-Boyd National Park, Oberon and Mayfield Garden. Our farming family has been associated with the Jenolan Caves since they were first discovered in the 1880s, with four generations having worked at the caves over various times.
We have numerous animals here at the farm including miniature goats and sheep, alpacas, geese, ducks, turkeys, peacocks and guinea fowl. A real menagerie! While not staying at the farm house campers are welcome to visit the farm animals. Please be mindful of privacy and don’t walk around the actual farm house gardens.
We have rolling green hills, sweeping views and spectacular sunrises/sunsets. We offer 4 off-grid campsites on level, grassed areas, where you can get a great vantage point of the farm views. We welcome self-contained campers only, to enjoy peace and privacy, in what is a perfect farm stay getaway all whilst exploring the Greater Blue Mountians World Heritage Area.
We recommend campers to bring their own drinking water and if you run out we can assist you.
We have no toilets and require campers to be self contained with a toilet in vehicle or camping toilet. We have no sewage dump onsite.
We have no showers available for campers and you may access dam water to heat if using heat exchange systems etc.
Campers to take all rubbish with them or they may bring rubbish to the house and place in green bins near conifer hedge
Pets are welcome and we request they are kept on a lead at all times.
We have a firepit for your campfire, and provide firewood free of charge, you just need to collect it yourself.

Jacqui Harman
I am a fourth-generation farmer whose love for all things farming and animals comes from both my parents multigenerational farming background. I took over part of the farm in 2019, creating a home for an abundance of different animals. My background as a teacher sees me wanting to inform visitors of the benefits of sustainable living, engaging in agriculture and developing connectedness to country in an inclusive and supportive environment.
