Mimosa Farm Stay

Description

Mimosa is a self-contained cabin/bungalow sitting beside a citrus orchard within a certified organic permaculture farm and mountain rainforest landscape

The Wilsons Creek Valley is filled with creeks, freshwater swimming holes, sub-tropical rainforest, hiking tracks, and national parks and is a short ten-minute drive from Mullumbimby and close to the river and beaches of Brunswick Heads and Byron Bay.

Mimosa sits centrally with views over the plateau, the valley, mountains and sub-tropical rainforest with national park boundaries.

It has a fully self-contained kitchen, bathroom (with bath) and internal features including a main bedroom, open plan lounge, living and kitchen.

There is a sleeping area with a 2nd queen bed at far end of open plan lounge, kitchen, TV (no signal but can stream content), reverse cycle heating and cooling, a large timber deck with open views, winter sun and summer shade.

The toilet is a dry, odorless compost toilet system and the kitchen is well stocked and run with gas cooktop and electric oven.

Nearby are sheep, lambs, chickens, cows and goats who enjoy curious visitors with goats in particular in the view from the deck.

Guests are welcome to have a wander around our permaculture farm and can see various buildings like yurts, domes, food, medicine and animal systems, off grid solar, eco-tech, subtropical rainforest, creeks and natural pools. Pet friendly – please contact us for conditions regarding bringing pets.

We absolutely love welcoming guests to our farm and when you place a booking request please also let us know more about your group size, any special requests or if you would like to apply to bring a pet. You can send a message to us via the Farmer Stays inbox once you have placed your book request. Thank you very much.

BRINGING YOUR DOG TO MIDGARD MOUNTAIN

We love visits from furry friends, however we have a few conditions about bringing dogs along.

In regard to your request to bring a dog/s, because we are a farm with various animals that are not farmed themselves but work with us to keep grass down, provide eggs etc and because not all dogs are identical, we just have to evaluate each request on a case by case basis.

We have chickens, sheep, lambs, goats and cows all in various areas. behind fencing

Main conditions with dogs are:-

1. Any dogs likely to be overly excited, curious, aggressive or likely to jump over fences, bust in and be in a chasing and hunting mode are not suited or compatible to a farm like this.

2. There are no contained fencing or borders around the accommodation so supervision is needed and assuming they wont run off far and cause problems for other guests, residents, animals etc, they are fine off the lead.

There are also plenty of paddocks and areas to have a good run off the lead and nearby areas including swimming holes and creeks not in National Parks to take dogs to explore. And Brunswick Heads our nearest beach has a great dog off lead area to enjoy the coastline and let dogs meet other dogs. As does Belongil Beach and Suffolk Park beach near Byron.

3. We ask that during spring and summer, animals be free of fleas and treated in some way as importation has happened before generating problems.

We ask that animals not be allowed onto beds and furniture and be conscious about shedding hair and fur and a vacuum is supplied.

5. Because of previous constant barking noise issues for hours when left alone, we ask owners not leave dogs alone for long periods as this can disturb us, other guests and neighbours. A short period may be OK.

With all these considerations met, we are happy for you to bring your furry friends along with a one off $30 fur child fee.
