Wild cattle creek mountain retreat

Description

A bright, spacious off-grid cabin, on a beautiful 1200-acre property, nestled beside the pristine Nowendoc National Park.

The private cabin is set a kilometre away from the main house on a working cattle farm and is set in the footprint of the original cottage from the early 1900’s.

The cabin was built with farm milled timber and sustainably sourced materials. The cabin overlooks  Watts Creek with its many waterfalls and Wild Cattle Creek runs through the back of the property. Surrounded by Nowendoc National Park, which is full of native wildlife, including a large colony of koalas, wombats, multiple cockatoo species (including red tailed glossy backs), wedgetail eagles, assortment of small birds ( yellow robins, finches, wrens) quolls, bandicoots and the odd dingo.

There are trails to hike or bike, where you have the chance to see wildlife, or simply sit back and read a book with a glass of wine in hand.

There are many local attractions, including a visit to the Aussie Ark Tassie Devil sanctuary (January only), and beautiful nearby New England towns to explore like Walcha, Armidale, Uralla, Nundle and all they have to offer with the many festivals and special events.

The off-grid farm stay cabin features large windows opening out to views of an uninterrupted valley. Enjoy breakfast at the kitchen bench, or out on the deck. Cosy up by the wood heater to keep warm in the winter and enjoy lots of windows to open to capture the cool mountain breezes in summer or dip your toes in the always cool mountain stream.

A haven of peace and tranquility, it is a perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the scenery, or day trip and come back to a cosy farm stay cabin experience. The cabin is supplied with basic pantry provisions, a selection of condiments , fresh herbs growing and some basic cooking supplies. An optional extra, can be the provision of a country hamper basket, including a fresh loaf of homemade bread, half dozen farm eggs, jar of farm honey or preserves.

We can’t wait to welcome you to this very special part of the world!
