The Local Community: Claudine is located in the picturesque Mary Valley. It is home to the townships of Amamoor, Kandanga and Imbil. Gympie is only a 15 minute drive away and Noosa 40 minutes.
The Farmers Note: Our farm is a certified organic avocado orchard. We use organic and biodynamic farming methods. In addition to avocados, we grow seasonal produce, run cattle, sheep, chickens and 2 dogs on the 80 acre farm. We offer a farm tour on request and subject to availability. Avocados are in season from April to November.
Things To Do: Be entertained by the abundant local birdlife—and if you’re a bird watcher, there are endless opportunities for viewing (120 species of birds call Amamoor home). Bring binoculars to watch the eagles overhead or just have a laugh at the resident Stubble Quails tumbling over each other to feed on grass seeds around the house. On clear mornings you can follow the progress of hot air balloons as they float across the valley. Watch the Mary Rattler steam train cross the distant horizon. Go for a wander to the top of our hillside for a 360° view of the landscape that will take your breath away.
Places To Explore: ⦁ NATURE ⦁ Visit nearby Amamoor State Forest and walk among the ancient trees. Spot one of the 760 species of native wildlife that are preserved in this truly special place. Known for its lush rainforests, rolling hills and pristine waterways, the region has so much natural beauty to explore. There are plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy, from hiking and mountain biking to kayaking and fishing. ⦁ FOOD ⦁ Henry is just a short drive from the charming towns of Kandanga and Imbil, with easy access to a range of local restaurants, cafes, and shops. Stock up on supplies from Kandanga Farm Store on your way here for chemical-free, nutrient-dense food grown in healthy soil. The township of Amamoor hosts a General Store with takeaway food and fuel. A cafe is also open Wed – Sat at the Heritage Train Station. ⦁ ADVENTURE ⦁ You could even combine your stay at Henry with a trip on the iconic Mary Valley Rattler, an original steam train that meanders from Gympie to Amamoor Heritage Station through the picturesque scenery. Horse riding is also on offer through a local company. There is an information book inside Henry with extensive information on the area - places to explore.

Myself and husband, John, own The Avocado Tree Farm. It’s an 80 acre, certified organic avocado farm, located in the picturesque Mary Valley, Queensland, Australia. In 2002 we moved from New Zealand and made Amamoor our home. We’ve raised two wonderful kids and have loved developing our property from a run down orchard to now – a thriving, certified organic oasis, with a tiny home and cabin accommodation. We are passionate about living with nature and growing delicious, nutritious food. We love our lifestyle and want to share our beautiful property with others.
